About Us
The Lemos Laboratory’s interests include neural mechanisms of stress, motivation, emotion, movement and motor planning, and coordination. We are particularly interested in the role of monoamines (dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine, histamine) and neuropeptides (CRF, urocortin, dynorphin, oxytocin, orexin/hypocretin, enkephalin, Substance P, Neuropeptide Y) in mediating and modulating these aspects of cognition and behavior. Below are examples of on-going projects in the lab. Individuals are encouraged to develop their own projects under the broad umbrella of Lemos Lab interests.
The Lemos Lab is a part of the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota Medical School. For more information visit their webpage here.
Our lab is also a member of the University of Minnesota’s Medical Discovery Team (MDT) on Addiction. The MDT focusing on Addiction is a multidisciplinary initiative that seeks to understand and link brain-based discoveries to new therapeutic approaches to treat or prevent addiction.
